What are the most common romantic pairings for Enneagram type 1s?

Female 1s most often marrying 5s, 7s, 9s, and 2, and Male 1s most often marrying 2s, 7s, 4s, and 6s (in that order)

Certain type 1 pairings are more common than others, though any type combination can occur and thrive. The marriage data we compiled and analyzed was broken down by gender, with Female 1s most often marrying 5s, 7s, 9s, and 2s, and Male 1s most often marrying 2s, 7s, 4s, and 6s (in that order).

Female 5s are less common overall, which is why we may see a gender difference.

When we remove gender as a variable, 1s overall most often marry 7s, 2s, and 5s, and least often marry 3s, 8s, and 1s. All type combinations bring shared and unique elements to the relationship!

Most common:
